Is the Real Estate Market Slowing Down, or Is This a Housing Bubble?
The talk of a housing bubble in the coming year seems to be at a fever pitch as rising mortgage rates continue to slow down
We’d all like to buy a home am I right? So, apparently the magic number for first-time home buyers is between 28-32 years old. According to a new bankrate.com report conducted last month among a sample of 1,001 respondents they concluded that 28 is their number. But according to The National Association of REALTORS® 2017 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers found out the median age is actually 32 for the second year in a row.
So, let’s just leave it between 28-32 which isn’t too far apart. I totally get it, I’m 25 ATM, and the older I get my mind begins to shift towards becoming a homeowner. Another study Bankrate found was 25% of men believe you should buy your first home at 25 years old and only 12% of women believe the same thing.
Homeownership is still a very desirable thing and I know a lot of people who want it that are below this age group. The struggle I see that is more common that not is income and inventory issues. There is a huge gap and although some young people get good jobs, they’re still struggling.
Just hang in there, things will get better and when they do, I will be here for you every step of the way.
Until then thank you for reading, as always, I appreciate you!
