According to a new analysis by ATTOM Data Solutions, a real estate data firm, May is the best month to sell your home. Researchers evaluated the sales of 14.7 million homes from 2011 to 2017 to pinpoint the month of a date that offered the highest sales price. May saw the largest premiums above the estimated market value of 5.9%, on average-higher than any other month during the year.
BUT, the best day of the year to sell a home is June 28th. That date a seller’s premium jumped to 9.1% according to the analysis.
Why? Well, when the sun shines it does something to us. Gives us some kind of energy to go out and do something. I typically for out for a walk to Starbucks, work a little extra on the blog, or go out shopping. While for others that something is sometimes buying a house x10. Which benefits the seller to get the highest and best for their home.
So, if you have been thinking about selling but this odd weather of hot and cold made you a little lazy, I would suggest dusting off your shoulders (and home) jumping on the market first thing May. Just get it listed and get your huge chunk of money. You don’t want to miss the wave, get it on top of it instead of chasing it.
