How I'm paying off my credit cards fast af
Hi guys,
We all have credit card debt; in fact, the average household owes $16,061, according to a recent report by NerdWallet. It’s no secret either that it’s fucking annoying to make those monthly payments. I remember thinking at 18 years old credit cards were the best thing ever boy was I wrong! I believe now more than ever that they are the devil. They’re a slippery slope into hardcore debt, especially if you’re not careful or know shit about the APR.
If you don’t know about APRs and what it is and what you need to look for in a credit card, stay tuned for Monday’s blog post, I will be going into detail about it all.
SNOWBALL METHOD
Finally to the good stuff, I know I talk a lot, I mean type lol. So it’s basically paying your debt from the smallest to the largest and ignoring the interest rates entirely. This has been the most and quickest way to pay off debt.
Find the credit card with the smallest balance, for example, if you owe $2,000 to one, $1,500 to another and $800 to your third, you’d start with the $800 one.
Focus on paying down that account by sending more than minimum while ONLY sending the other credit cards minimum payments.
Trust me, it might seem like it’s not going to work but it does. Once you start tackling the smaller debt, it begins to disappear quicker. Then, that’s paid off and you can start with the next card.
I personally started this method around 2 years ago and I went from 6 credit cards to 3. I couldn’t believe it. Of course, my debt may differentiate from yours but it’s still a proven effective method.
Try it out, and let me know in 6-12 months how you’re doing.
As always thank you for reading I appreciate you and your time
xx
