My Takeaway at the Fashion Community Week

I was so excited to be invited as an “Influencer” to attend this year Fashion Show for Fashion Community Week. Starting with the Privé Shop the Runway and Influencer Evening that allowed me to mingle, meet designers and preview their collection before anyone, and lastly meet other fabulous influencers.

FASHION SHOW 1: International Couture Fashion

 show & Showroom

The way these designers envision and executed their line was just over the top fabulous. I can see the blood sweat and tears in the clothing while the beautiful long-legged models walked the runway. I don’t mean literal blood sweat and tears for any of you wondering, I mean metaphorically.

The Fairmont hotel was beautiful as well, had to throw that out there. I just love hotels, don’t you? Ok, let’s move on.

We, influencers got to sit in our own little section which was nice because we got good seats that allowed us to snapchat/instatory the whole thing.

FASHION SHOW 2: Exclusive Fashion & Pret-a-Porter Runway Show

Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend but I heard it was good as well.

FASHION SHOW 3: Emerging Designs & Sustainable Fashion Show

This one was my favorite and not because it was hosted at Hotel Zelos’s rooftop with perfect weather for San Francisco but because the clothes were just gorgeous. Not to mention sustainable fashion! Duh! Need I say more? The fashion industry is the second largest polluting industry in the world! Yes, let that sink it. So it’s a breath of fresh air to see designers pushing the ordinary and committing to making clothes preventing further pollution.

What I got out of this?

Hope, motivation, and friends.

You see, fashion shows aren’t just about looking at clothes and envisioning yourself wearing it, it’s about hope. Hope that you can do anything you put your mind into. These designers are just like you and me people! They had a dream, a vision and with hard work, they were granted the opportunity to showcase it to the world.

That itself lets on motivation. Showing you that anything is possible even if not everyone agrees or likes it. Who gives a f*** if no one in your sphere of friends & family likes what you want to do, just do it for yourself. At last, friends. The friends I made were amazing and I’m so grateful to have met other individuals who are creative and in this same kind of world as me. Friends who understand and value the idea that taking pictures and recording everything is very important lol.

In conclusion, I think it’s paramount to understand and believe that you can do anything. Community Fashion week really brought a number of diverse people together who all have something in common…FASHION. They united people, and during these strange times, it’s tremendously important to be nice to each other and enjoy this short time of life we have on this earth.

As always thank you for reading, I appreciate you and your time.

xx
